Question 1

Is ReptilesAway safe for dogs?

Accepted Answer

ReptilesAway is safe for dogs when applied as a band along travel lines. Made with food-grade and botanical ingredients. As with any product, keep pets from eating it directly and check the ingredient list if your pet has known sensitivities to any of them. The five listed ingredients are sodium chloride, citric acid, lemongrass oil, peppermint oil, and garlic oil.

Question 2

Is it safe for cats?

Accepted Answer

ReptilesAway is safe for cats when applied as a dry band along foundation lines, walls, and thresholds — not in the middle of the lawn. Made with food-grade and botanical ingredients. As with any product, keep pets from eating it directly and check the ingredient list if your pet has known sensitivities to any of them. The five listed ingredients are printed on every bag.

Question 3

Does it work on iguanas?

Accepted Answer

Yes, ReptilesAway works on iguanas. You shake the granular powder along seawalls, canal banks, and foundation lines — the routes green iguanas use to move between basking and burrow sites. The banded routes make the path unpleasant without harming them, so iguanas reroute off the property over a few days. One application lasts two to three weeks.

Question 4

Does it work on Cuban tree frogs?

Accepted Answer

Yes, ReptilesAway works on Cuban tree frogs. The frogs cling to lit windows and pool cages because the lights draw the insects they eat. Shake the powder along the base of walls, under windows, and around pool-cage thresholds so frogs avoid the routes they use to reach the lights. One application lasts two to three weeks.

Question 5

Does it work on cane toads?

Accepted Answer

Yes, ReptilesAway works on cane toads. Cane toads travel along damp edges, AC pads, downspouts, and foundation lines — shake the powder along those routes so toads avoid the banded section and stay in the cover. This matters where pets roam, because cane toads secrete a toxin that is dangerous to dogs. One application lasts two to three weeks.

Question 6

Does it work on snakes?

Accepted Answer

Yes, ReptilesAway works on snakes. Most South Florida yard snakes are non-venomous and useful, but you can keep them off the patio by shaking the powder along mulch-bed edges, fence lines, and canal banks — the travel corridors they follow. Snakes avoid the banded routes and stay in the cover rather than crossing into living spaces. One application lasts two to three weeks.

Question 7

Does it work on geckos and anoles?

Accepted Answer

Yes, ReptilesAway works on geckos and anoles. Both small lizards come to your house at night for the insects drawn to exterior lights. Shake the powder along the base of walls, window frames, and screen-enclosure thresholds so the lizards avoid the routes they use to reach the lights. One application lasts two to three weeks.

Question 8

Does it kill or repel?

Accepted Answer

ReptilesAway repels — it does not kill. It is a granular barrier that makes the routes reptiles and amphibians travel unpleasant, so they reroute off the property over a few days without harm. The powder stays where you put it as a three-foot band along foundation lines, seawalls, fence lines, and pool cages.

Question 9

How long does one application last?

Accepted Answer

One application of ReptilesAway lasts two to three weeks. Reapply after heavy rain or every two to three weeks through the season. The reptiles do not forget — they keep choosing the easier, unbanded route, so staying on a consistent schedule keeps the perimeter clear without contracts.

Question 10

Does rain wash it away?

Accepted Answer

Heavy rain can reduce effectiveness, so ReptilesAway should be reapplied after a downpour. In normal South Florida conditions the granular band holds for two to three weeks along the travel lines. Because it is a dry powder applied as a band rather than a spray, it does not drift or wash away the way liquid treatments do.

Question 11

Is it safe for plants, lawns and vegetable gardens?

Accepted Answer

Yes, ReptilesAway is safe for plants, lawns, and vegetable gardens when applied as a band along travel lines rather than broadcast across the whole yard. The five listed ingredients — sodium chloride, citric acid, lemongrass oil, peppermint oil, and garlic oil — are printed on every bag. Lay the band along foundation lines and garden-bed edges, not on the vegetables themselves.

Question 12

Is it safe around pools?

Accepted Answer

Yes, ReptilesAway is safe around pools. It is a dry band applied along the travel lines — the foundation, the pool-cage threshold, and the seawall — not in the water. Put it along the edges where reptiles travel, not in the pool itself, and the granular powder stays where you put it.

Question 13

How much powder do I need for my yard?

Accepted Answer

The 32 oz bag of ReptilesAway covers 1,500 square feet — enough for a typical South Florida yard. The 5-gallon bucket covers 30,000 square feet for large lots, multi-building properties, or professionals running a full perimeter. Measure the linear footage of your travel lines and choose the size that covers your property.

Question 14

How do I apply it?

Accepted Answer

To apply ReptilesAway, shake or spread the dry granular powder in a three-foot band along the lines reptiles travel — foundation lines, seawalls, fence lines, pool cages, doorframes, garden beds, and AC pads. No mixing, no drying time, no spray, no drift. You put it exactly where you want it and it stays there.

Question 15

What is in it?

Accepted Answer

ReptilesAway contains five ingredients, listed on every bag: sodium chloride, citric acid, lemongrass oil, peppermint oil, and garlic oil. The formula is formulated as an EPA FIFRA 25(b) minimum-risk pesticide — made only from ingredients on the EPA's minimum-risk list, so it is exempt from federal registration. No spray, no fogger, no mixing required.

Question 16

Where is it made?

Accepted Answer

ReptilesAway is made in the USA, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The powder ships anywhere in the continental US, and our crew also runs treatments across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Contact us at 1-833-8REPTILES (1-833-873-7845) or reptilesaway@gmail.com for inquiries.

Question 17

How much does shipping cost and how fast does it arrive?

Accepted Answer

ReptilesAway ships anywhere in the continental US via UPS and FedEx. At checkout you see live carrier rates for your address — orders of $100 or more ship free, and a flat $8.95 applies if live rates are unavailable. The 32 oz bag is $24.99 and the 5-gallon bucket is $164.99. Tracking is provided once your order ships, and delivery times depend on your location within the continental US.

Question 18

What does a local treatment cost and where do you go?

Accepted Answer

ReptilesAway treatments are priced by quote after a property walkthrough — no contracts, no twelve-month plans. Our crew treats properties across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Book a single treatment and decide later whether you want another; recurring service is available if it suits your property, never required.

Question 19

How is ReptilesAway different from Orkin?

Accepted Answer

ReptilesAway is purpose-built for reptiles and amphibians — a granular band along outdoor travel lines, no contract required. Orkin requires an inspection and quote; ReptilesAway is $24.99 with no contract. If your problem is iguanas, geckos, or tree frogs, ReptilesAway is the right tool rather than a generalist pest-control plan.

Question 20

How is ReptilesAway different from Raid?

Accepted Answer

ReptilesAway is a granular repellent for reptiles and amphibians — not an insecticide aerosol. Raid is a household insecticide spray for insects like ants and roaches, not for iguanas, geckos, or tree frogs. ReptilesAway is a dry powder you lay along travel lines; Raid is a chemical spray for bugs. They solve different problems entirely.
